Miss Bala is loosely based on a real incident, in which 2008’s Miss Sinaloa, Laura Zúñiga, was arrested with suspected gang members in a truck filled with munitions outside Guadalajara, Jalisco. The film suggests her pageant victory was blatantly fixed by criminal elements.

has this film been release in theaters already? i know it's been shown at the cannes film festival but i never heard of it coming out in theaters. if anyone has seen it, it'd be nice to have an opinion on the film. looks pretty good.

I know here in S. Florida they are usually released in limited theaters so I'm sure I will have a chance to see it.

There's a lot of great Mexican actors and directors. It's just most people never heard of them or don't know about Mexican films.

alls I know is after the golden era of film (La epoca de oro) the film industry in mex went to ****..........then these kats came in the scene and revived it.......they legit no doubt!
