    Agreed, and so many weight classifications & sanctioning bodies... Can't compare.

    Armstrong would have at least 24

    3 weight divisions. But with Jr & Super titled

    Too awesome to think about

      Ah ok. But you did say world titles in the op. Nothing specific. But it's only certain world alphabet titles then?

        I agree, Armstrong's accomplishment is way more impressive, but technically it's still 3, which is less than 5.

        There's Hopkins, Taylor, and Crawford, who all held 4, but that's still less than 5.

        I'm not asking if this record is impressive, just simply asking if anyone has held 5 or more major titles like Floyd did.

          Forget it. I misread the op.

              armstrong being able to hold 24 titles would depend a lot more on popularity than anything else. its almost impossible to do when they all have different mandatories. but if they really like you then they will change their rules and mandatories, which they seem to make on the fly. Especially if say youre a big ppv seller like mayweather and abc orgs get paid as a percentage of the purse.

                yeah, good pont.
                Popularity = revenue
                Armstrong is the man.

                He'd of only had 8 or 9 titles with only one sanctioning body
                Jr. Normal super titles

                  And I'm saying the number of titles is a lot less important than whether those titles are lineal, Ring or undisputed and who is beaten to win those titles.

                    That's really the standout when it comes to holding the most belts at any one time. When you consider three weight classes back then was the equivalent of five weight classes today and that there was only one champion per weight class, that is a phenomenal achievement.

                      Yeah and Conor McGregor did a similar thing in MMA, holding 2 titles, which is like holding about 5 belts in boxing these days. Others won titles in multiple weight classes and weren't allowed at the time to hold both though, like Randy Couture and BJ Penn.
