Better resume: Naoya Inoue or "Gallo" Estrada?

I mentioned this a week ago, anyone ranking Inoue over fighters like Estrada, Canelo, Lomachenko etc. are just going by the infamous "eye test" and giving KO's against tomato cans too much credit. We all see how that worked out with Golovkin, he was consensus #1 p4p for a while in 2017, then he fought another elite fighter...

I agree.

P4P lists should be about SKILLS + RESUME. Not just one or the other but a combination of both.

Especially since its very easy to look impressive against lesser opposition. While fighters who continuously go up against the best will obviously not look quite as dominant.

If Inoue destroys Donaire, in more convincing fashion than Walters did, I think a sharp rise in the P4P lists is justified

Inoue: Narváez with 50 years old, Rodríguez that barely won that fight against Moloney and McDonalds.

Estrada has the biggest single win in Rungvisai but overall their resumes are otherwise comparable in top level opponents despite the relative brevity of Inoue's pro career. Naoya also doesn't have any Ls of course and has claimed his best wins in more dominant fashion.

And the L against Sor it was very very competitive and he had a lot of injuries but then he schooled Sor

Estrada with all his losses, not good enough to beat Roman Gonzalez. Would more than likely lose to Gonzalez again, fighting good opponents is great and all, but not beating the main stand out ones isn't that impressive. By that standard we could say some journeyman whose fought loads of upcoming champions has the best resume around.

Inoue would more than likely flatten Estrada.

this is flat-out lie. fact: naoya turned pro one month before chocolatito - estrada and gonzalez never fought at 108 again.
so there certainly was no ducking there. when they were all at 115, hbo tried to build gonzalez - inoue more but after gonzalez became a champion wbc pressed him. it was either rungvisai, cuadras rematch or be stripped. then his fight with inoue wouldn't be a unification and it would be less big. choco lost 2 times and then went into a slump so it was just unfortunate.
naoya, gonzalez and estrada are all great. we can debate the rest.
estrada at 112: viloria, estrada, segura
estrada at 115: cuadras, rungvisai (p4p top10, maybe 5)
naoya at 108: taguchi, hernandez (number 1)
naoya at 115: narvaez (number 1)
naoya at 118: rodriguez and 2 top10 wins

beating rungvisai is better than anything naoya did but naoya is younger, more violent and has achieved more in one more division. so it depends on what you like more. i have massive respect for both of them but i like to watch naoya's fights a little more.

And nope, Estrada beat #1 in Flyweight (Viloria) and #1 in Superflyweight (Rungvisai).
