Golovkin is not P4P top 5

Yeah.. just because you guys keep saying it doesn't make it true. Donaire lacks any big name wins - as a matter of fact, he lost both of his big fights against Walters and Rigo. He also just lost to a relatively unknown Jesse Magdaleno, who I believe never fought anywhere even close to top10 or top20.
Speaking of Walters, he beat Donaire much easily than Rigo did. And Walters has shown himself to not be that good either, getting a draw against an unimpressive Sosa (even though he won in my eyes, he was not impressive), and then getting absolutely destroyed by Lomachenko.
Outside of Donaire, Rigo's resume is absolute hot garbage. He's fought 1 other guy who was anywhere close to top20. If he actually fights Flores and wins, my opinion of him will change. But right now, Rigondeux is one of the most overrated fighters in the world.Comment

I had him in my top 5 for a while but there is only so long you can stay there without a marquee win. Lemieux was solid but then following it up with Wade and Brook (for whatever reasons there may be) makes it difficult to argue that he should stay in the top 5 when guys like Lomachenko and Crawford are scoring big wins.
My top 5 is Ward, Kov, Loma, Gonzalez, Crawford. The next few would be Pac, Canelo, GGG & Frampton (not necessarily in that order). On the topic of my top ten it's getting harder to put Rigo up there as well, I'd like to see him in with a live body again. But to be fair, prime Donaire was a big win that tops anything GGG has ever done.
Rounding out the top 10 is getting harder than it was a year ago - Mares beat Cuellar, Usyk beat Glowacki etc. You can make a case for several names I haven't mentioned to be in the top 10 which is just more reason why GGG shouldn't be so easy to put in the top 5.Last edited by BrometheusBob.; 12-13-2016, 01:52 PM.Comment

Exactly. It is going to get harder and harder to keep GGG in even the top 10 unless he takes a good opponent soon. Jacobs, Charlo, Canelo, someone solid @ 168 are the type of opponents he needs to keep from slipping in the rankings.Comment

Here is yet another PFP policeman ordering everybody where they must rate GGG PFP. PFP isn't resume or anything to do with resume. PFP is how good you think a boxer is for his weight even if all he ever did was knock out a bunch of bums. Pound for pound is just personal opinion, not fact. It can't be proven except when fighters in the same weight class actually fight each other. Rigo can't fight GGG to see who is better pfp. You can rate GGG anywhere you want PFP. but you have no right to tell anyone else where they must rate him. Your opinion is no more valuable than anyone else's opinion. When you say it's only white supremacy thinking that makes people rate GGG so high I can't help thinking your black supremacy thinking makes you angry that he is rated so high PFP. Ring, Boxing Scene, HBO, ESPN Boxrec and just about every other group that ranks boxers PFP have GGG in the top 5. They aren't white racists and they know a lot more about boxing than you do. Learn the difference between resume and PFP ratings because they are two completely different things. Resume is about accomplishments. PFP is about a boxer's current ability and potential. In other words how good a fighter you think he is for his pounds right now, today. Regardless of who he did or didn't beat in the past GGG would be a huge betting favorite to beat any boxer his weight in the world so he deserves his top 5 PFP rating. Being the best for your weight is what PFP is supposed to be about.Comment

Mr. ******ity, while you're certainly entitled to your own opinion, you're not entitled to your own facts. When a Ward/g string fight was a real possibility, team g string insisted upon a catch weight(164) Ward couldn't possibly make. This after accepting 168 for both Froch and Chavez Jr.Clear duck on team g strings part. After that Ward moved up to fight the #1 light heavyweight in the killer Kovalev and g string drug the #3 or 4 welterweight up not one but two weight classes for a fight. Even an idiot like you can figure out who's trying to fight quality opposition and who isn't.
As far as Canelo goes, I'll just say that 10 million dollars is one hell of an offer for a fighter with exactly ZERO quality wins.
BTW, how's that reporting me to the mods as an alt going? Keep me postedComment

You're deflecting, as always. My point was that TS is an alt who's parroting around same old BS. Rigo's resume sucks and he's overrated to the max. Golovkin has wins over ~10 Top10 contenders.
Quit acting like Donaire is some super ATG win and that everyone Golovkin fought is Alexander Brand level and people will start taking you seriously instead of grouping you with the rest of the Golovkin trolls.Comment

In what world is LeMew a better fighter than Gamboa or Postol? You do realize that LeMew got beat by both Alcine & Rubio and neither of them could ever be considered much more than a fringe contender (like LeMew himself).Comment

Bad news, the #1 criteria for compiling any CREDIBLE P4P list always has been and always will be resume.
