  • My trip to Cuba

The hard-hitting Abregu (36-1, 29 knockouts) is the latest Argentine to land a high-profile fight on American airwaves, following the success of his “Argentinian brothers Marcos Maidana, Lucas Matthysse and Diego Chaves” as well as former RING middleweight champion Sergio Martinez.

Ali (20-0, 12 KOs) will be fighting Abregu on the undercard of Bernard Hopkins-Sergey Kovalev at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, about a 2 1/2-hour drive south from his hometown of Brooklyn. He has been a regular at the New York borough’s Barclays Center since it opened in 2012, having fought there in three of his past four bouts. Ali’s most recent appearance was in August, when he scored a split-decision victory over Jeremy Bryan.

“Being a Brooklyn fighter means a lot to me. I was born and raised there. Everybody is hungry here, and there have been so many great fighters from here,” said Ali, 26, who has scored knockouts in five of his past seven fights.

“Even though it’s not like how it used to be, I’m trying to bring it back as well. There’s a lot of those guys I look up to, Mike Tyson obviously. I’m close with Paulie Malignaggi and Luis Collazo. Can’t forget about Riddick Bowe and Mark Breland.

it's a fun place. there was lots of older women(tourists) with younger cuban men at my hotel my last trip. everyone has their thing there just never let anyone see your passport, credit cards or stash of money. many of them live in poor conditions as you see so a decent bed, warm shower & flush toilet is a nice break from their everyday lives so it is just as much a vacation for them as it is for you. **** in a bucket & clean yourself up with no running water everyday & i bet a free breakfast & air conditioning is pretty luxurious. i bet they would stay with you as many days as they could. i learned lots about that country the last few years. i have met lots of locals & some doors are opening for me. i think it's vital i do a better job of learning some spanish...i think it's great you can speak the language...i like the ocean so i think i will go back to varadero next time or try another beach area...no all-inclusive though. i stay in local hotels...next time i go to holguin i will match it up with the holguin baseball team's home schedule so i can catch a few games.

I went on a dancing trip to Santiago Cuba with 12 Canadian girls, me being the only guy from the group. I know, quite a challenge huh! Anyway, I am crazy about Cuban music - Rumba, Son, Chachacha, Casino, Conga and so on and so forth. So when this trip was organized I jumped on it. We had dance classes from Monday to Friday - 4 hours a day and it was great. I felt like I got the short end of the stick a little bit because I was the only guy, but it was still a great experience. I know you guys want to hear about the girls and the sex and it will be coming so don't worry about it. I am just trying to say that I went there for the dancing scene and I thought that maybe I would score with one of the Canadian girls that I believe has a crush on me, but never really had it as a goal or anything. I just thought that if it would happen it would be great that`s all!

About Santiago de Cuba, the city is a pretty small city, roughly around 500 000 people. Very poor city. The Majority of the people are black or mulatto, it`s rare that you see white Cubans there or the native looking ones. I didn`t do much sight seeing. I thought the city during the day was boring. The beach is terrible and is far away. It`s not worth it to go to the beach there. The best pool(s) in the city are in the hotel where I was staying, Hotel Melia, which is very overpriced and the food is pretty bad. The night clubs are great, there is always a live band playing Salsa and Son. That`s why I went there because of the musical culture. The water is not potable, not even for the Cubans so don`t ever drink from a tap. Guillermo Rigondeau and Yuriorkis Gamboa are from Santiago as far as I know.

The city is full of jineteros and jineteras which can create a lot of discomfort and unpleasant moment for the tourists. Jinetero(a) means that a person a male or a female is trying to make a profit of the tourist`s back. I didn`t have a problem with the jineteras but I did run in some problems with the guys as I am very social, outspoken, speak Spanish and in general can empathize with people. So I was a walking target for people to hustle me. I am half-Cuban by the way, but I was not raised in Cuba. Anyway part of it was my fault, but I just wanted to be myself and see where it would get me.

I dated a Cuban girl in Canada who is great and she warned me about all kinds of schemes in Cuba, but I told her not to tell me anything, I told her I just want to go there without any fear of people trying to take advantage of me.

As far as the Cuban girls I`ve always had a very high opinion of them. They are very humble, down to earth, flirty, intelligent, nice how to treat a man, great in bed. I`ve dated a few in Canada and I know a few. The Cuban Canadian men that I know are great and we hang out and everything. The Cuban men in Santiago Cuba, especially the young ones seem like they are just trying to scam you and make a buck out of you. I know it`s bad to generalize like that but this has a lot of truth to it and economically the city is in a very dire state so Cubans as they are always creative, they come up with all kinds of tricks and schemes. Even when I`ve had great conversations with Cuban men, at the end of the day, they are always looking for something from me. They think because I come from a foreign country I am super rich. So that left a bitter taste in my mouth although I know that not every Cuban man in Santiago is like that but in that regard I had some unfortunate experiences.

I was in Havana 7 years ago and I thought that the food was atrocious. I was in Miami twice with Cubans - I thought Cuban food was one of the worst. My ex girlfriend here in Canada who is Cuban has cooked for me and I`ve told her that I think Cuban food is some of the worst there is. The best Cuban food I`ve had was at the airport in Miami.

Now in Santiago, the food in the hotel was atrocious, the food at the restaurants in the centre of the city was equally bad. Then I decided to venture around. I went to a bar - restaurant in front of my hotel full of jineteras and jineteros or if you wish hustlers and whores. I go there and all eyes are on me. I start talking to a girl sitting next to the menu asking if she worked there, she says yes to which I replied mentirosa (liar) So I tell her listen I`ll buy and your friend food and drinks you just recommend something that is good to eat her cause I am losing weight as we speak. All three of us ordered pork chops and they were delicious. The girls think I am Italian. Everybody thought that I was either Italian or Spaniard. So we talk we hit it off. I start touching one of the girls, who was the prettier, she was a very light skinned mulatta. We`re having fun. We`re going out of a place, she kisses me takes my penis out, strokes it, shows me her **** and tells me to go with her to a special house - Casa Particular. At this point I have no idea what that is as I didn`t want to do any research. I told her to come to the hotel with me she refused. I told her listen right now I am not feeling it. It took her an hour to take my penis out. I told her I`d be going to the discos dancing. She told me fine, I`ll be here all night, come look for me if you wish. Then I go back to the hotel, shower, clean up, get in a taxi and two black hones are walking the street and I tell them. Look I am going downtown, if you wish you can join me in the cab. They do and my head is like a fan to the left to the right. We go to a club with live music. One of them, Karima, asks me which one I want and I tell her I want her. She wants to sex me the same night and asks me if I want her and her friend. I am like nah I didn`t come for that at which point she looks at me like Im stupid. The majority of men, old ugly white wrinkled Italian men from Italy go there and have two 3 black girls a day and they change them each day. It`s a sex tourism thing for the Italians. The girl I met told me that they are the second colonizers as a joke. When we were at the pool and I was with her Id go to the bathroom and old Italian men would approach her asking her to go with them and leave me alone. I am still relatively young lol.

Anyway, I tell her tonight I am not feeling it. Let`s meet again tomorrow for dinner and take it from there. We do, we try a hotel downtown and it was full, we tried a Cuban legal house like bead and breakfast thing, they are full. Finally she takes me to a place she knows. We go there and she`s menstruating a little bit still and tells me to put it in her butt and I do but she`s hurting too much. So I am like screw it so I did her bloody. She`s great, doing everything in the book. Next day we didn`t do anything although she wanted me to, I told her let`s wait another day so it clears out. Then the next three days I paid for her stay at my hotel and in 4 days of sex I used 20 or 22 condoms. Morning sex, afternoon sex, makeup sex, the girl was coming like a river. My fingers hurt from typing. Let me see if I can post a few pics. She never once tried to rob me and she never once asked me for anything although I know she was slick with the ways she made money off me but I can blame her and it was nothing anyway so I turned a blind eye to it. She was great as far as people skills and everything, like I said Canadian woman just cannot compare with the Cubanas, well the majority of them anyway.

Joe, how is Holguin as a city. I think it should be way better than Santiago. What's the population like, the beaches, the girls, the hustlers, etc.?

beach is 56km from town. you will have to stay in the resort to be at the beach everyday. i stay in the city. holguin is pretty big. i stay close to downtown. not much there but you speak spanish & like that latin dancing stuff so i'm sure you can find action in the parque calixto garcia...i don't swim in hotel or public pools anywhere. my hotel ive stayed at in holguin 3 times. i've spent about 32 days there & seen them clean the pool once. the place is packed & open to locals from 8am til 8pm...there are some decent restaurants, a few discos but all in all there isn't much to do. i always have 2 girls with me so i don't always go out to clubs. found a metal night on a rooftop every tuesday. live cuban heavy metal bands. i also go to baseball games when in season. seen a popular cuban music band bamboleo play at my hotel...it's okay but the ocean & beaches are out of town. not lots of local action out at the resorts. mostly tourists & staff at the resorts but awesome beaches & ocean...Guadalavaca
