In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), Dave Meltzer is reporting this weekend's show, which emanates from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by a light-heavyweight bout between Quinton Jackson and Matt Hamill, has sold just $1.5 million in tickets, which he estimates at around 4,500 tickets

It's their own ****ing fault! I mean **** I can't even go on youtube to watch highlights of previous fights to get me hyped for new ones!

      They're killing their own sport.

lol ok so the card looses its title fight, the UFC is having a hard time selling this one particular event (the last 40 events have sold quicker than dime bags) and now the MMA is a dying sport ..... ?????

Rampage has lost some drawing power with his innactivity. Plus they lost the main event. They can't all be like the last card which sold out over 50k in minutes.....

You do realize that the last card. Just under a month ago sold 40000 tickets on the first day right?

Interesting that Quinton Jackson hasn't scored a KO/TKO victory in 3 years. His last 3 fights have all been decision. And 5 of his last 6 have been decision.

Add to the fact that he almost admits he's lost the love for fighting and now does it for $$$. He even said as soon as acting pays more, he's gone.

Is he losing his fan appeal?

The downfall begins the 28th. First the ratings on Spike DRASTICALLY decrease on all shows(primetime, countdowns, unleashed), but now they're going on versus. When on versus they do even lower ratings on Spike TV, and monthly figures have been declining since October. It had a good run.

On the other hand, boxing has been gaining viewers.
