  • Boxing is the second most watched sport on NBCS after NFL

NBCS isn't doing too well over all but boxing is standing out from the pack none the less. All that money they spent on the Olympics to boost NBCS ratings. Oh well, serves them right for jamming Olympic boxing on that CNBC business network, where it actually pulled higher ratings than many of their events on the main network.

Over the past four weeks (Nov. 26-Dec. 23), the top program on NBCSN was bonus coverage of the 49ers/Patriots “Sunday Night Football” game (1.2M). Only one other program during that span even cracked 200,000 viewers — a live boxing telecast on December 8 (216K). [Click here for chart.]

This coupled with good numbers for Adamek-Cunningham II has shown again that the American public will watch boxing when it is on. Id love for a big fight to be fully promoted and played on a US channel which lots of people have access too.

Boxing at least big time boxing will always be PPV, the undercard can be on network tv and increase PPV sale dramtically, but no way these mayweathers or pacquaio get paid 30+ mil on network tv.

BUT then again no real Mayweather or Pacquaio waiting in the cut, we got potentiol as in Broner, Canelo, JCC jr.

Yup... Let's see if those numbers stay after the robbery Cunningham suffered.

It'll get bigger. Casuals love drama. Previously they were two no name boxers, now Adamek is the foreign villain who robbed the wide eyed American of his dream.

****, boxing withstood Pac vs JMM 3, Hopkins vs Dawson 1, Mayweather vs Ortiz, then Bradley vs Pac straight IN A ROW, yet they did nothing. You really think this is going to hurt boxing?
