Decoded has been described as a memoir, but as new details about the book emerge, that doesn’t seem to be an adequate description. There’s autobiographical content, a break down of the lyrics to 36 of Jay-Z’s song (hence the title), and illustrations. There’s also an iPad/iPhone app version of the book with exclusive video, customizable content, and interactive features.
According to Billboard, Jay-Z says, “I wanted the book to tell a little bit of the story of my generation, to show the context for the choices we made at a violent and chaotic crossroads in recent history.”
Decoded will be released on November 16th and has a list price of $40.
