Need Career Advice.

I started out a a bricklayer and worked as one for a year but as the recession hit works been dead not been able to get work. I see 2 years of my life wasted going to college and getting nothing out of it. Most site use studed walling now a days anyway.

I'v been doing labouring for the last 2 years which is considered to be the ****est of **** jobs. I can't take any of the mind bogerling boring crap, anymore.

I want a job as a assistant-site manager. I don't know how to go about it. People who get high in the construction indusrty ither go uni or know someone in a high role in the comapany.

The only way I see myself getting into it is going to uni. I struggle to find information on it. I don't know what I sould be looking for. To go to uin do I need a-levels aswell. General advice would be welcome.

I'm not the Guru about this, I've failed in life over and over.

But what I know is most employment is about who you know. Affiliation.

You have to get in good with people and that won't happen by kissing their ass.......they're just going to step on you for being a *****.

You must be hard and challenge them over small things.

u can get onto a decent course in uni as a mature student... no a levels needed, as long as uve got the basic passes in gcse's and ur over 21 u got a high chance of getting into something like building studies or construction managment at ur local uni.

ye no doubt, just go onto there website, check out the course's ur interested in and phone them up and enquire, tell them ur situation, dont talk any slang or anything, act professional.
