  • If DAZN goes under how are they going to pay off Canelos big contract?

It looks like DAZN is not going to succeed, the usa only based mobile streaming app is losing ground to ESPN+ and have increased their monthly to 19.99.

They have too many max contracts, canelo getting 365 million for ten fights, soccer star Ronaldo as a spokes person probably making millions as well, and many others.

    What will happen if
Dazn goes under, i heard the owner sold Dazn?

Im guessing all the golden boy fighters and eddie hearn will jump ship and sign deals with espn

DAZN is not going under anytime soon. Sure, there is a chance the US operations don't end up working out, but they are a worldwide company and they are loaded with cash. They will be fine for the time being. What they are spending on boxing pales in comparison to what they will eventually bid for other sports. Skipper is a realistic guy and he had to know they weren't going to come out running out of the gates with just rights to niche sports like boxing/racing/Bellator/etc.

But let's say hypothetically that DAZN ends up getting out of the boxing business in a few years, no problem, Canelo is still the biggest star in boxing so GBP will end up getting a deal with someone else.

Very early to suggest they aren’t going to succeed? Not really sure on what exact basis you have formed such an idea to be honest. It does surprise me how many Americans actually want them to fail ; you would think die Hards would prefer the subscription to ppv idea!

In any case they have spent far more on other countries (eg Cristiano Ronaldo) and are owned by a billionaire if I remember correctly? I wouldn’t suggest there is any imminent risk!

For clarity as people may not understand but DAZN sold off a side business (namely statistics) recently for many millions with intention to use the funding to further expand into the subscription based app model they have now moved onto

A japanese advertising firm bought a 10 percent stake in the company last year for £300million so the company then was valued at £3billion which is near enough $4billion. There's no way DAZN is going under any time soon; only thing that could happen is that they realise it's never going to work and sell it off to be rid of it but that will not happen overnight.

Lmao. You do not understand business evaluations. Watch the documentary The Inventor. Had a 4 $billion evaluation and only ever did $150k in sales.

The software is worth more then the business.

DAZN going under? Have you been reading the news the company is valued at £3billion. They are expanding offices, launching in new countries and about to get a large influx of cash to buy up even more sports rights. The amount that Canelo got is just a small tiny fraction amount of money they are spending. With the news that came out a couple days ago not only are they not going under they are doing very well. They are literally one of the highest valued tech companies in the world right now.

                  https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/...3bn-float.html

DAZN, which counts former ESPN president John Skipper as executive chairman, has about 3,000 staff in more than 30 countries, but more than half of those are in the UK.

It opened a new media centre in Leeds in January that will house 350 staff, having already hired more than 750 UK staff in the past 12 months.

DAZN is currently available in Japan, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Canada and the US. It already screens more Champions League matches than any other broadcaster in Germany. Goal.com, which is part of the group, has 100 million users worldwide.

Ukrainian-born Blavatnik is one of Britain’s richest men and also owns record label Warner Music, whose London headquarters in Kensington are around the corner from his £200million mansion. Access Industries also controls music streaming service Deezer.

A London listing would be one of the biggest stock market entries ever for a UK technology start-up. Blavatnik would make several times the £700million he originally paid for Perform Group in 2014.

Last year, Japanese advertising giant Dentsu bought a 10 per cent stake in the business for £300million, valuing the company at £3billion.

Disney plus just signed DAZN USA death certificate. Once they bundle Disney plus, Hulu live, & ESPN plus as one package it's the nail in the coffin. You'll have all that boxing content (and way more others content) in one package around the same price as DAZN USA

They'll probably sell off to another streaming service
