  • Comments Thread For: Paul McCloskey Parts Ways With John Breen Via Text

Paul McCloskey will have a new trainer when he returns to the ring in the New Year after dumping long-time handler John Breen - via text. 'Dudey' has spent the last eight years with Breen, who guided him to British and European titles as well as a world title shot against Amir Khan.

But the 33-year-old has not moved forward from that defeat (on cuts) and has decided a fresh start is required - much to the surprise of the trainer.

Paul McCloskey is a bum and so is his cabbie trainer. A club fighter at best and he thinks changing trainers will change his fortunes lol.

absolute horse****. He might be a little shy of world level but Paul is a good boxer. He's certainly no bum.

Although, dumping John Breen by text is very weak. What a ****s way of doing it.

Unfortunately if you are not a world champ you are automatically a bum Paul is as you say a good boxer whose level is that off a european champ absolutely no shame in that and i agree dropping Breen by text was a poor way off handling things but thats his look out

Your absolutely right that its no shame in being a European level fighter, it's still a major achievement that not many can do. But Paul Mccloskey isn't a "good boxer" he's slightly above average, I could forgive Paul for his flaws if he had some humility, but he thinks he's much better than he actually is. Any time he's stepped up he's been shown up, Khan, Corley, Prescott (who he should have lost to) he even struggled against Perez who is shocking!

McCloskey is a decent fighter and breaking up via a txt is a very weak way to go about things.
