    what larry merchant is to commentating or what floyd is to boxing ? your thoughts? who gets more respect from their peers and boxing fans alike? i have to say larry merchant all day but thats just me and the normal people of the world.

      Merchant is much better at denigrating fighters [who are much braver than him] based on his own prejudices and expectations than Mayweather is at boxing.

      Now since Mayweather is #2 P4P...

      What am I implying here?

        I'm sure Merchant is top 5 atg of boxing commentators whereas FMJ doesn't even make the top 10 atg in boxing

          Merchant has a long and storied history as a boxing commentator.

          He's basically a lock in for the Sports Broadcasting HOF.

          He's covered some of the biggest fights of yesteryear and is pretty much a staple figure at big HBO PPV fights.

          He says exactly what's on his mind for better or worse and always asks the pertinent questions the fans want to hear answered.

          I say it's a toss-up with an edge given to Larry for his experience and reputation.
