  • Tommy ''Hurricane'' Jackson

What are your thoughts on him?

Was a top contender in the Heavyweight division during the mid 50's. Once during Marciano's reign in 54/55.

He beat a washed up Ezzard Charles twice, Rex Layne, Bob Baker, and took a near peak Floyd Patterson to a SD IN 56 and was stopped in the rematch but he was coming to the end by that time!

    good fighter in his prime!

I only seen his fights against Patterson, He seemed to be a solid fighter Patterson broke his hand early in the first fight though.

He was noted for his relentless attacking style, great stamina and his strange, unusual behaviour, the name "Hurricane" truly fit him. Jackson's expression hardly changed even when he was fighting.

His boxing prime didn't last long and after it was over, he spent the rest of his life in poverty.
