  • Anyone here seen Sugar Ray Robinson fight live? How was he?

I'm having trouble finding people who have actually seen him fight live. Anyone hear seen him? Watching footage sometimes doesn't tell the entire story. Was he really 5'11? That's extremely tall for a welter.

    Would love to hear.

I was there at his 2nd ever fight. I even brought him his first ever New York Frank hot dog. But his performance I was not impressed by.

Dude, People who saw SRR in anything close to his prime aren’t alive anymore. People who saw him in the 40s and 50s would be like 90 now.... 90somethings don’t post on Internet forums.

My Dad is 70... and that makes him too young to have seen SRR as anything other than a shell of himself.

I understand that, but you never know.... Was thinking there was a good chance there are some old posters here that saw him fight live.

Just wanted to hear from someone that was around during that time and got a chance to see him fight.
