Persepolis is based upon the real life events of Marjane Satrapi, who wrote the comic that the film is based on. It's the first animated film I've seen so far.
The film begins when she is still a young girl, with the Shah ruling over Iran, and moves through the years, as she grows up and the political climate changes as the Islamic Revolution takes place.
After a few years of turmoil, the decision is made to send her to Europe, where she can have a better life, although due to her background she doesn't always fit in.
I don't have too much to say about this film, even though I liked it. It was good, it had some funny moments, and is worth watching IMO.
