And don't say training because mexicans don't have that either.
And don't say none of them try, they try, they just don't get anywhere.
Look at how terrible Arum's chinese guys look...
First of all, Africa is a continent. African countries and Indian countries aren’t really that into boxing. Brazilians are more into mixed martial arts. Mexicans are not the top fighters in the sport, but usually hold a prominent spot in the sport. The only top Mexican in the sport at the moment is Canelo.

America is still the Mecca of boxing and Mexico has an advantage over other countries due to proximity to America, so it is easy to travel, train and fight in America.

mexicans start pro very young. pro fighting is a lot different than amateur fighting. looking for points over 3 rounds vs looking for stoppage or decision over 6, 8, 10 or 12 rounds.

they develop a style made for pro fighting not amateur fighting. you seen those two cubans fight in the olympics they barely tapped each other looked like they were sparring. but they were focused on hit, not get hit and getting the points with less risk, even if they didnt fully commit. that is pretty smart for an olympic tournament.

Huge population and boxing is more popular there than most other places. Also its in that fertile middle ground where theres a lot of hardship to breed tough people but its not a full blown third world country where theres a lack of infrastructure for organised sports etc.

Its a mix of tough upbringing and a rich boxing/fighting tradition.
