The Jewish people in the Old Testament were given God's law to live by. The Ten Commandments, the Ceremonial Law, Ect. They had to Sacrifice animals to cover their sins before God and keep the Law in order to be saved from their sins and go to heaven. Under the New Testament, Paul was given the Doctrine of Grace by God to give to the Gentile believers. Paul writes that we are no longer under the law, but we are under Grace. God's grace. We don't have to do a bunch of stuff or keep the Law to get Salvation from God because Jesus Christ died on the Cross and Rose from the Dead for our sins. Because of His perfect Sacrifice, we no longer need animal Sacrifice to cover our sins. Jesus Blood washes away our sins. Under grace, all that is required by God for Salvation is that we place our Faith in Jesus Christ to save us and believe in our heart that He died and rose again for our sins. Faith is Believing God and His Word and Submitting to His will in our life, Trusting in Him. Read the book of Romans.

Ro 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
