Yep. There was a documentary about this on WWE Network that debuted a few years back after Raw, before they moved to Peacock. It's probably still on there though. It was a lost match for years until some collector found a tape of it and sent it to WWE. Hope she got some good money for her copy. Even though it was a dark match, there was actually commentary with Gorilla and Bobby. It seemed he looked good when he had someone like Bret Hart to work with but then in other matches, Tom Magee didn't look anywhere near as good, so Vince lost interest in him. Kind of interesting though that Vince was so sure Magee was gonna be the next top guy. Just goes to show what kind of training one can get in the Hart Dungeon. Also pretty cool they managed to track down Magee to be interviewed for the doc. Man did he get old. Bret still looks pretty good though. And it turned out Bret became his champion 8 years later. How ironic.

Yep. But fans were losing interest by 83, so that's why Hogan was brought in and a new era began. Better promos, bigger and more dynamic. Supposedly, Backlund was asked to turn heel back then, but didn't want to, then finally did after his 93 return, which led to a great heel run and later feud with Bret Hart, your favorite and mine.

Yep, hence the heel turn. Loved when he made the angry political speech rants in his promos as a heel too in that era.
