I think Russ played the ''invincible'' bad ass it bit much.

The romance angle was a bit overdone in Titanic.
I guess other than the boat tanking, they had to tell a story or 2 in the meantime ?

Titanic was a wonder to look at....as was LA Con.
The level of difficulty is definitely with Titanic.

I have rewatched LA Con more often than Titanic
I have FF past more parts of Titanic than I have LA Con.

Agreed. But the academy doesn't often give much love to film noir. Maybe back in the day, but not in the neo noir era.

LA Confidential is a brilliant film with an outstanding performance by all actors. Titanic is a visually stunning film ruined by the usual blockbuster sappiness.

They are vastly different movies. Do you mean Mulholland Falls? Because that is another film noir set in the 50s not the crazy ass David Lynch movie which is also quite good IMO.
