I can see that people on this thread still haven't bothered looking into the background of this conflict. They literally believe that Russia just randomly attacked a peaceful neighbour out of the blue because 'evil white Christian men.'

There is nothing to gain from continually saying "Russia attacked a peaceful sovereign country" while in reality, there has been a civil war there for eight years (11000 deaths), only a small portion of the "country" were able to vote in the elections, opposition parties and media are not permitted, and the better, more productive half of the region has officially declared independence from the Ukraine state.

I really don't understand what anyone gets from just ignoring reality, unless it is out of fanatical support for NATO?
