But they have to pretend they're open to peace for propaganda purposes

More or less. Russia knows that if it doesn't keep Crimea - and the land bridge to secure it - it's finished as even a half-assed great power and the US will become the big dog in the Black Sea and Caucasus. Expect increasing dissent in the North Caucaus and Southern Okrugs and possibly the suggestion of NATO - or at least UN - 'peacekeepers' in the North Caucaus and Astrakhan regions within a decade and attempts at secession of the regions South of the Volgagrad gap.

For Ukraine it's existential - I mean yeah, they can probably get something OKish going West of the Dneipr as long as they still got Odessa but any dreams of being a major player in Europe - if they were ever realistic anyway given the current global political and econmic climate - are pretty much dust.

****in tragic for Ukraine though. I mean they got like 8 million women and kids displaqced - mainly abroad - that's the future of their people. This **** goes on another year or two or three the women gonna be settling in Poland or Germany or where ever - gonna get new lives, new boyfriends or husbands maybe if it drags on. The kids slowly becoming naturalised. Generation of men dead or traumatised. Not sure time is on Ukraine's side here.

It's called petro dollar because oil producing countries like to use the dollar as currency

They use the dollar as choice



I swear some of u guys use the term petro dollar as if it's some oil company or US conspiracy tool

other countries keep large reserves of us dollar so....... they use dollars when dealing on the international market

Please don't try to sugar coat this. We understand what the term means. We also understand many countries now want away from it and are actively trying to do so as tou can read Yellens words.

Mexico seems very close to going that direction also. The president all but **** on biden yesterday. Saying the US blew up the pipelines and they're trying to get Trump so he can't run again. We are seeing moves being made. Will they stick? We'll have to wait and find out.
