Got into HUGE argument last night about Eli Manning shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame. Is he a HOF quarterback?

Beating the GOAT Brady BOTH times in the super bowl is greater than being in the HOF, period.

Those SBs came down to a play here or there. Eli did not dominate.
        60% comp
        A paltry +122 td > int
        Slow as hell
        .500 w/l rec
        4 1 n done's in the playoffs
        Only 5 10+ win seasons
        Never an MVP
        Only a few Pro bowls
Never led in passing yds OR tds

Regular season stats is what it's about.

2007 Playoffs, he averaged 215 yds per game.
2011, much better @ 315 per but not otherworldly.

In the age of offence, Eli should have had much better numbers. In 15 years, his numbers will be dwarfed like the QBs who came before him.

He was tagged the Aw Shucks Assassin because he was very humble and durable. Not because other teams feared him. That's why he isn't still playing.
        Even Flacco is still playing

I liked him but there is no stat to support him being a HOFer (given the era he played in).

            I was torn on this.

Eli has had too many sh#t games and the only argument you can make is that he has 2 rings. That is the only thing. Everything else about him is mediocre. Definitely a no for the HOF.

              It doesn’t matter.

History will display Eli beat Brady twice in the super bowl, the GOAT. And has two championships because of it.

Hardly anybody is checking on HOF status.

More people will be asking who beat Brady in the super bowl. Eli will come up twice.

Floyd didn’t do anything to Pacquiao. Nothing. No offensive highlights or anything. Just jab and run and hug.

But people don’t see that. They’ll just see the W.

2x Super Bowl champ by beating Brady the goat in the super bowl....TWICE?
much greater than being in the HOF.

he won two titles but those teams were very stacked and the wins were a little flukey and certainly not all driven by the strength of eli manning as a quarterback.

he had a 500 record in his career. he was dead ****ing average for a starting quarterback and he stuck around the league a lot longer than he should have because of his brother and his two legit but very passive superbowl wins.

IIRC he is one win over 50% in his career. with over 200 games played. that's not hall of fame level man. that would be like deflating the value of a dollar. next year you'd have to let in joe flacco.

                    This isn’t my thread.
And I never said Eli Manning is HOF.
I said being a 2x Super Bowl champ while beating the goat Brady both times is a greater feat.

If Eli gets in then so should Jim Plunkett. Btw I agree that Joe Namath should not be in the HOF.
