Coupled with the fact that George had lethal doses of fentanyl and his arteries were 70% or more clogged, well it’s much harder now to conclude that the death was intentional. Remember it has to be beyond reasonable doubt that Chauvin intended to kill George, and with all of those other factors at play, fentanyl, poor health, and following police procedure well that’s a tall order to prove beyond reasonable doubt.
      I agree with all that

the only reason they get found guilty for 2nd degree murder is because the public and media already decided they were guilty last year.

if this was some case under the radar, there’s almost no chance that 2nd degree murder gets a guilty verdict due to all those things you listed.

        This is actually not true.

The second degree murder charge does not rely on proving intent. You can figure this out just by looking at the charge:

Second Degree Murder Unintentional While Committing a Felony

What has to be proven for this charge to stick is that a felony was committed at the time. What felony? A felony offense "other than criminal sexual conduct in the first or second degree with force or violence or a drive-by shooting."

So what felony will they try to prove Derek Chauvin engaged in?

They will argue that he committed FELONY Third-Degree ASSAULT.

609.223 ASSAULT IN THE THIRD DEGREE.

Subdivision 1.Substantial bodily harm. Whoever assaults another and inflicts substantial bodily harm may be sentenced to imprisonment for not more than five years or to payment of a fine of not more than $10,000, or both.

If it can be proven that Derek Chauvin assaulted George Floyd causing substantial bodily harm, and unintentionally cause his death, then Chauvin will be guilty of 2nd-degree murder.

Just wake me up when the trial is over and the riots start.
It’s sad, and the cops should have just left him in the back of the cop car. They rolled down the windows, but maybe he needed more oxygen? Plus his heart must have been under tremendous stress.

that honky cop should have taken that knee off the back of Floyd’s neck.

riots are going to happen however the verdict goes.
I just hope Rodeo drive gets hit again so nice stuff can be bought cheaply.

            This trial shouldn't be broadcasted.

Chauvin is toast. He showed reckless disregard for the condition of Floyd. He was out to prove a point. I'm in charge. I'm in control and to him that was more important than the condition of the person he was arresting. Floyd was not a threat to his personal safety or the safety of other officers and bystanders. The type and duration of the restraint was clearly excessive.

Absolutely. I saw a video the other day and the speaker said something that really stuck with me.

He said Chauvin's actions displayed "The arrogance of Power." It's so spot on!

When the police are constantly struggling with blacks to listen to their orders, having to get physical for them to do so, that really strikes me. And Floyd was pumped up big time on drugs, he was fighting the cops.

Play stupid games and win stupid prizes. Floyd played them and karma was served.

Can you people not find a better example than Floyd to again burn, loot and murder in your own communities? Free tvs though, free Nikes, free whatever.

More whites are killed yearly, than blacks, by the police.
