From what I have been reading/hearing, I think the next generation of consoles are going to be a huge leap.

Both Ps5 and Xbox sex gen series 360 X squared are supposed to be beasts.

Don't be faggots.

I'm a pc gamer, but even my high end graphics card struggles at 4k 60 fps on many games.

They're promising things like 8k, 120 fps, ray tracing, integrated solid state drives.

If they can deliver all that in a cheaper compact package plus game streaming, then even pc gamers will have to start looking into getting a next gen console.

That left thumbstick is terribly placed. I get cramps whenever I need to make precise movements for too long.

I found the current Xbox controller is slightly better ergonomically, for me, than the PS4's but it is a bit heavier.

Only Xbox i've ever had was the 360. Better console than the PS3 which only started to fix up at the end of it's lifecycle.

This new console LOOKS AWFUL from an aesthetic POV. The name is also terrible. We have no news on what potential big hitter games will be available on there. There is no such thing as Xbox exclusives anymore, it all comes on PC as a Microsoft exclusive. I always preferred the UI of Xbox Live though.

The PS4 controller was way better than the monstrosity known as the PS3 controller, that **** was terrible once you used the 360/PS4/X1 controllers. I wish they got rid of the batteries in the controller and gave you the option of buying a usb chargeable one instead. It's unnecessarily bulky in this day and age. It screams archaic gen.

I really want Microsoft to do well but they seem to constantly shoot themselves in the foot. They royally screwed up last generation because of their own arrogance due to the success of the 360. Sony needs competition or they'll end up providing worse products all around. Microsoft have invested in new studios but are they going to compete with the likes of Naughty Dog? I can't see that happening any time soon. No information about any big hitting games and the majority of games they do release seemed to be aimed at kids.

Didn't get into this gens consoles until I bought my 1X last year. Both the PS4 and Xbox 1 just didn't move the needle for me when the dropped back in 2013 or whatever.

I'll probably will be sticking with MS because of Game Pass, and I'm just comfortable with their "ecosystem" as a whole.

Now when the final specs are revealed say Sony has a major power advantage and a lower price point, might have to think about it.

But from what I have gathered so far, the systems are within 10% of each other as far as TFlop numbers, both will have some sort of ray tracing, CPU performance that isn't weaker then baby shit, and SSD's.

People mention PS exclusives, and it's a very valid point. But to be honest the only game that really had me looking at getting a PS4 was Bloodborne, because I love From Software joints.

Good time to be a gamer, no matter what you get, I think.

I want to get a ps5 because their exclusives are always on point. But I just hate that playstation controller. My thumb gets cramps just thinking about using it.

That's the dealbreaker for me. Xbox has weaker exclusives but their console experience is always triple A. With the best online infrastructure and the best controller.

Here's the scoop on consoles; you get the equivalent of a pc that would cost about twice the price. So, a $500 console would roughly equal a $1,000 PC. But, you're limited. You can't choose how you want to run your graphics (which is a big deal) and you can't upgrade components, can't choose energy efficient or low noise parts, etc. That's how it's been for literally decades now.

I've done both at various points in my life. Consoles are great. Games have to comply with certain standards so they just work and you get far fewer issues than with PCs. PCs let you reach new heights in visuals and audio. Being able to use a mouse was a huge advantage for years but some console games are now adapting mouse compatibility.

If you're really into your games and money isn't a big deal, pc gaming is really satisfying. If you play a little after work to blow off steam and aren't super competitive, or don't need the highest graphics possible, get an Xbox.
