  • Comments Thread For: Spence: Weird People On Twitter Told Me, 'I Wish You Would've Died' In Car Accident

DALLAS Errol Spence Jr. was taken aback the first time he checked his social media accounts about two weeks after his scary car accident in October 2019. Spence appreciated the kind, encouraging words mostly from strangers who wished him well in his recovery. The unbeaten IBF and WBC welterweight champion couldn't help but notice, though, that were some people with real hate in their hearts, most of whom hid behind fake accounts that emboldened them to post mean messages they otherwise wouldn't.

People spend way too much time on social media. To send that kinda negativity to send somebody you don't even know is just being envious of their position. People need to focus on making their own self successful instead of just hating on the next man and praying for their downfall. It's lame af and just sad.

This is a sad sad commentary on the extremely unstable and disordered types who have unfortunately locked on to boxing and use social media to live out their tough guy fantasies.

He doesn't deserve to drive again for years, but he deserves to live a long, healthy life.
