  • Comments Thread For: Jeff Horn Being Pressured Into Retirement Following Loss To Tszyu

Former welterweight champion Jeff Horn is being pressured into retirement by his family following his one-sided loss to undefeated upstart Tim Tszyu last month in Australia. The 32-year-old Horn (20-3-1, 13 KOs) did not have much going for him during his eighth-round TKO loss to Tszyu (16-0, 12 KOs), and his corner stopped the fight to save the fighter from absorbing further punishment.

Either retire now or find a way to cut down and get back to welterweight. That's his only way to avoid becoming an Australian version of Audley Harrison

Naw he won't be that bad. Harrison won a gold medal in the Olympics, was heavily hyped when he turned pro, and flamed out horribly. Horn isn't anything close to that bc he was never touted to be much anyway. He could still be a solid journeyman at JMW.

Horns the only one to not use a jab at all and lunge in using his jaw to block punches...as a style... Great strategy great coaches! 🙄

Don’t retire yet, Joe. Everybody knows you don’t belong at the bigger weightclass. You’re a Welterweight. Come back to 147 you still have big fights in there. Ortiz and Boots are waiting for you. You’re still a big enough name for passing of prey, I mean mega fights.

Pacquiao, Crawford, both bloodbaths vs Zerafa and Tsyzu. Horn has taken a careers worth amount of punishment in those fights

Who is going to retire first, the father (Horn) or his son (Pacquiao)?

He can't do welterweight. He's too big.

He's fine at 154. But he needs a better trainer, period.

It's Chris Algieri and Tim Lane all over again.

His trainer made him sign a lifetime contract with him 😂 no I'm not joking.

Horn is done. He's financially secure unless he's been a complete dumb azz with his money. He's easily taken home $2-3 million plus all up for the last few fights. Time to find something else to do and enjoy life after boxing.

He's putting his health in serious, serious jeopardy if he decides to keep fighting. He's guaranteed to have a degree of brain damage by this point, and apparently already suffers memory loss. Continuing to fight would just be ****ing stupid as hell, especially considering his trainer has such a reckless disregard for his health.
