  • It really is a shame that Canelo doesn't speak English more often and market himself

He could easily be not only the face of boxing, but the face of all combat sports world wide if he spoke english a lot more often and got out there and marketed himself.

Fury is doing a good job, but he doesn't have the looks that Canelo has.

A Mexican fighter born and raised in Mexico that looks Caucasian.

    What a waste.........

He makes a fortune. I don't think marketing is any major concern for him.

But he's not the face of boxing though.

            You mad bruh? LMAO.

What you are alluding to is one of the reasons Canelo and his fans have always rubbed me the wrong way. Stars are BORN not made in this sport. ODLH has desperately tried to make him the next ODLH but he will never and can never be! ODLH was a natural draw and he had all the attributes for stardom. Canelo has been force fed because of his "looks" but the majority of fans have never bought what ODLH was selling!

He is still just a puncher with a good chin, bricks for feet, and marginal upper body movement which he developed late. Nothing more. Gifts, robberies, and extraordinary hype have made him more noise than he ever deserved.

On the other hand Fury, like ODLH, is a natural draw! Charisma, skills, attitude, and no loss or controversial decision has derailed or slowed down his momentum. Fury doesn't NEED Arum but it helps.

Fury is now the face of boxing, the cash cow, and golden goose, and also the people's champ, and the people buy the PPVs. So again, we don't like to be told who to root for, told who is good by promotional companies, we make that decision for ourselves. I follow fighters because I see something in them I like, not because some promoter told me they are the next big thing.

The frustration of both Clenelotards and Wilderettes with Furys dominance and success even beyond boxing is amazing.

I hate that face of boxing stuff. Canelo is the face of Canello and that is it. he is a good fighter who used to fight twice a year and lately maybe once a year. The real face of boxing is all the good champions and not any one man. I like to enjoy a good fight at least once every weekend not just the rare times Canelo fights. i don't care if they speak English. I just want to watch them fight not listen to them talk..

There are some formula 1 drivers who can speak 5 different languages, most at least speak two different languages.

He's still the biggest star in the sport.

Tyson Fury could only sell 3600 tickets in Las Vegas two fights ago against Wallin.

What's more of a shame is that no American boxers have been able to step up to take Floyd's place.
