  • Threadmill for wife

Any thoughts? If you have one at home, share your experience. She wants to lose some weight after pregnancy, maybe you have some reliable models with incline and other features. I have $800 to choose from. I read some reviews but they all like like paid ones, so thought it would be a better idea to ask someone

It is always better to run outdoors; more challenging, fresh air, it’s better for you.

If your wife insists on a treadmill, get a decent one, in the UK it costs about £650 for a good Reebok one. Then when running put it on a slight incline and vary the speed.

But, try the outdoors. Far superior to a treadmill.

Buy an 800 dollar lock and put it on the fridge. Better yet buy 800 dollars worth of locks and put them on every food and pantry cabinet.

First, I'm sorry about the misogynistic tone in some of these comments. They're uncalled for and certainly not helpful to anything.

I don't know if this is too far afield, but I prefer a stationary bike over a treadmill (I agree with abracadabra - I like running outdoors when possible). For indoors, I've really enjoyed using the Rogue Echo bike. It's not really meant for beginners, but if your wife already has a background in fitness, it is good for a challenge and designed for shorter, intense workouts.

You would be well prepared to include every dusting product in this world with the gift of this treadmill...…...Rockin'

Yeah treadmills seem kind of ridiculous to me. Though I get that the weather everywhere isn't always conducive to running outdoors but they just seem like a huge waste of money. To ride a bike outdoors you still gotta have or buy a bike so a stationary bikes seem a little less silly to me even though you're still "going nowhere fast"

To the original thread starter, if your wife is open to a stationary bike, maybe she'd want to start with a recumbent style for more comfort.
