No, I have not seen this but it looks super interesting and I will purpose to watch it in the near future. ~ Thanks for sharing.

I worked on the assembly line for GM in the early 1990's, for about 2 years. I should have an interesting perspective...

I hate watching sh^t about the crap jobs in the US these days doe. I worked crap jobs like this back in the day & saw how effed it is first hand. Worked for 3 places that closed down to go to 3rd world countries to save money & make stockholders just a lil more profit.

Its kind of about that, what I took from it was how different but the same China and the US are. The work rules in America with safety, wages ect. While in China they work 12hr days with little pay and have two days off a month. The people have no choice and the factory seemed to be run like a military.

Where Americans the job is second when it comes to life.

Jobs should be AT LEAST 2nd. Thats where they get it right in Euro countries. They value their quality of life more than some companies bottom line for investors which is how it should be.

I guess its interesting the difference, but I think its wrong how they view work in some other countries.

I agree, enjoying life should come first. When I worked like a dog to build my business I made a lot of money. Then I thought, whats money for if you cant enjoy it. To bad it took having our daughter to feel this way.

I used to work at a milk, cheese, whip cream factory when I was in my early 20's. It was bad but the money was good. If you were scheduled for 8 hours, anyone that had seniority over you could bump you, meaning if they were scheduled to work 12 hours but they wanted to leave after 8 hours, you HAD to cover their remaining 4 hours, or 2 hours whatever they wanted. There were enough people that you would get bumped every single day, so you already knew that you'd be working 12 hours each day.

It was a 24 hour plant and the schedule would change every day. So before leaving home, you'd need to check the schedule. Pretty much, I worked 12 hours, rested 8, worked another 12, rested 8, etc, 6 days a week. With the drive home, eating, making lunch, resting, etc, I'd be lucky if I'd get 5 hours of sleep per shift. We'd only rest 1 day a week.

To earn enough seniority where you would only work 8 hours a day and get a day shift, you'd need to be there around 12 years. The divorce rate there is pretty high.

I could not survive a schedule like that now.
