  • Difference between boxing on ESPN and boxing on FOX

I was just reading that press release about Crawford's camp life on ESPN plus. ESPN plus released a press release yesterday and it wasn't even mentioned. They didn't mention boxing at all

While FOX seems to be all in on boxing

This is what Tim Smith was talking about when he said they'll have actual boxing shows. Not boxing shows on an app filmed from someones basement (Dan Rafael's show)

ESPN doesn't legitimately cover boxing at all. The vast majority of the time they cover it, consists of them trashing the sport for corruption or the fights sucking.

That's what pisses me off about ESPN sometimes. Wilbon covered Bernard Hopkins beating Jean Pascal to become the oldest champion ever on PTI. His only point was that it was proof that boxing was dead since a 45 year old could win the title.

I'd rather he not even talk about boxing if he's going to say dumb **** like that.

the main difference is between ESPN and Fox is that ESPN is all in on boxing by have EIGHTEEN shows a year on ESPN while Fox will only have TEN a year on their main network. That is the main difference.

You also failed to mention that Terence Crawford and Teddy Atlas INSIDE THE RING debuts on ESPN 2 on October 10th and that the weigh in will air on sports center. Just like they did for Crawford-Horn with the Inside the Ring and weigh in. They also have shown several other weigh ins on Sports Center.

That is what Todd duBoef meant when he said that they will have actual boxing shows on ESPN and ESPN+ and not just some robot holding a sign counting down to the first fight date.

Espn is doing a great job. I can’t go 5 mins without hearing people talk about Crawford’s fight this weekend

Fox has an actual boxing studio show on TV. ESPN plus has Dan Rafael in his basement doing a boxing show on Skype

10 on FOX, another dozen on FS1, and a dedicated fight show to regularly talk up fights.

                  Nice try though

Two shows, not just one. Not including documentaries, All Access type shows, ALL weigh-ins, press conferences, etc aired (not just a Crawford). The list goes on.
