  • Who are the current best trainers of Heavyweights?

When I think about active top, top trainers of Heavyweights, there's nobody who immediately jumps to mind.

At a push I'd say Robert McCracken has done a good job with Anthony Joshua, considering AJ's limitations. Peter Fury also seems to be great at planning and getting his fighters to follow gameplans. Not sure with Peter if that's just because he's had two very good boxers, technically, in Hughie and Tyson.

Who would you say are the best active trainers of Heavyweights? And do they work best with a certain style, or are good for any style?

Adam Booth isn't a bad shout. Do you reckon he works better with fighters who have certain attributes? Or could he mould any fighter into a better version of themselves? Who else has he trained at Heavyweight besides David Haye, David Price and Danny Williams?

It is hard to say heavyweights specifically because generally trainers do multiple weight divisions. Rob McCracken is most known for training Carl Froch who many would suggest achieved far more than many believed is ability should have. Whether he is doing more or less with AJ than others is hard to say but he he’s the trainer of the #1 in the world and has taken on many top fighters within only 22 fights - so you would probably also struggle to argue he shouldn’t be top5
