  • [REAL TALK] Connor is a blessing for Floyd he needs him to sell the fight

We all know Floyd likes to think of himself as the a side and maybe he is because the man has earned it.

But look at his biggest fights and you'll see he needs the other guy more than his own name to sell fights.

Oscar because it's oscar. Canelo to bring in the Mexican fans. Manny had all of Asia supporting him. Now he's fighting Connor who is the most popular mma star worldwide. Floyd can't sell just by being Floyd he needs that name guy to get over 1 million ppv sales.

Mike Tyson once said people would go to the theaters to watch him jerk off because of his name only that's how powerful his brand was. Floyd doesn't have that he's let fans down too many times to sell a fight just because it's Floyd.

Personally I'd rather pay money to watch Tyson masturbate.

this is floyds MO. cherry pick guys that bring fanbases and are not risky fights. if you fit both those crtieria floyd is signing that contract! if you dont bring a fanbase he would still fight you but obviously hes looking for better cherries and those fights would be classified as not very good cherry picks because he didnt get the best of both worlds. conor is agreat cherry pick and very creative. he went and found someone who is not even a boxer to make hundreds of millions of dollars off of...but conors the disgrace lmao

That's floyds dirty little secret. He acts like he's the a side against anyone but the truth is he needs a big name to sell fights. Connor is a million ppv fighter in the UFC which historically hasn't pulled in many million buy shows. He's a global star and Floyd needs that to sell it.

I think that it's time to give up this argument. Floyd brings his own fans to ther party too. How do I know? What were Dlh, Canelo, Pac and Connor's biggest ppvs without Floyd?

Floyd has fans of course but his fans don't bring the money that the wealthy Asian and Mexicans bring.

Lmao you see those huge numbers Canelo brought in against Khan and Smith? And wasn't Mannys last fight on free tv? HBO couldn't get away from those wealthy Asians fast enough.

He is still the draw. Those guys aren't doing close to those numbers without Floyd either. The whole draw and appeal of the fights is wondering if that's the guy to beat Floyd.

I'd agree about this fight though, Conor is bringing a genuine huge fanbase to this one. Even then you have to consider that the mass casual market appeal is because he is fighting Floyd Mayweather, that's the selling point for the casual market. Conor has a big fanbase but if he had gone into boxing and fought Frankie Gavin, it won't be doing a fraction of the numbers he will v Floyd.

So yeah, Floyd might not be popular or loved but he is a draw. The 4 biggest selling boxing PPV's when this happens will all involve Floyd and that speaks for itself.

They need each other to do these kind of numbers.

                Great post.

Floyd has no following and he knows it. Til this day, the thug lifers still duck this question like they duck child support.

Why didn't Floyd fight on MLK Day or Fourth of July?? (The world may never know.)

He knows that his "low income" people (will not say ghetto, cause it's raciss nowadays) don't have the funds to support him. That's why he always fought on Mexican Holidays.
Heck, Larry is still trying to stream Floyds fights on his 1999 Acer PC.

My Caucasian brothers are the ones who are buying this fight! They're the reason why this fight will do good. Everywhere I go, I see them talking about this fight.

Thats what everyone does lol. Thats the blueprint for everyone. Find the guy who sells via his talk, which fans eat up more than anything else, & beat his ass to enhance your legacy via his sh^t talking.
