  • [REAL TALK] Would you move out of town or state for work?

Or have you done that? I dont think its something I could ever do, all my family is here and even if some place offered me more money then I wouldnt do it. Family comes first, I dont have a wife kids but brothers, sisters, cousins, parents. How could you leave that.
    What do you think?

I've been doing that the past 11 years in the military. Currently in Korea while my wife and daughter are in the states.

Yes, the only thing keeping me in my current city is my awesome job. My family is here, but I don't really like 'em, so...

Did during my military career. After a while you get accustomed to it, but it's not for everyone. If you are really close to your family it may not be worth moving for a job you aren't in love with or is only marginally better in pay.

Already done it a few times. Went to middle of f**king nowhere southern Wyoming on a work transfer. Spent 2 plus years out there. It's like f**king Mars out there. Southern WY looks like the damn desert (in fact it is, it's just a really, really cold one) but jeezus it is f**king cold as f**k up there. It wasn't at all uncommon for the temps to drop below zero in winter and I saw temps drop as far as negative 40. Like they were on the radio issuing frostbite warnings and ****. I had to wake up every morning and start a drive well before sunrise, and it is dark (pitch black), desolate, and f**king Siberia like.

And then I also spent a couple years working in Houston, which is also considered out of town for me.

Yeah I'd definitely do it again if the money was right.
