  • Didn't They Say Fight Mayweather Rough and Dirty?

For years on this very forum and throughout boxing media wasn't the word and agreed tactic to beat Floyd was fight him rough, dirty, bend the rules? Hit him in his arms, shoulders, try to get him to break his hands, foul, lowblows, headbutt if necessary, use elbows if necessary?

Stay in close, mug him, grab him, hit him with flying knees?? They even identified the fighters who could best do this to Floyd, guys like Margarito, prime Chavez, etc...and when Maidana fought Floyd and did precisely what the fans demanded, (foul, knee, rabbit punch, arms, legs, tackles, etc...) these fans celebrated the effort and argued for years that Maidana should of won the fight!!

Reality is Floyd took over that fight after the 5th but that was ignored in preference of Maidana's fouls! So this guy Jeff Horn does those exact tactics against Manny, Makes his life hell, and successfully earns the victory and now they want to protest, complain, and claim he should of been DQ'd! So dirty tactics are only acceptable against Floyd but if its done to Manny its wrong? This is why I have issues with extreme Pac fans, something is wrong with ya'll eyes and minds

    This is just made up

When did fans celebrate maidanas dirty tactics. They celebrated him pinning Floyd to the ropes and clocking him.

Ward is a dirty fighter as is horn.

Hitting someone on shoulders and arms isn't illegal

Pacquiao is viewed as a dirty fighter

Pacquiao hasn't been tested since the Vargas fight. Horn is enrolled in the VADA CBP.

Yup, you hear it all the time. People are even saying McGregor needs to make it dirty to win.

The truth is Mayweather has tons of critics/haters and all they care about is him losing.

Sometimes dirty tactics are even praised, remember when Salido beat Loma? Lots of people were praising him for his "veteran tactics"

Yeah remember when Ortiz threw a flying headbutt at Mayweather that could have ended his career and all people cared about was Floyd's "sucker punch" that came after

Many not only celebrated the rough tactics from the first fight but advocated for more of the same in the rematch.

It doesn't matter to me because I don't mind old school, roughhousing tactics. I just don't like the inconsistency or selective outrage.....

It's only dirty tactics when their favorite fighter get beat. When it's against a fighter they don't like, they see no problem with it.
