My simple take as to why this will remain the case
LeBron Is a damn good player, damn good is an insult. He's and ATG player but he is not THE ATG Player
LeBron is head and shoulders, knees and toes, better than every player in the league and that is a fact. He is the true definition of the MVP Award.
But what sets him and Jordan a part
Jordan has never lost in the big game, Jordan's shots consistently went in when it mattered most, and none of Jordans NBA Finals ever went to a game 7. Jordan set a benchmark that is honestly unreachable. Yeah, bill russell has 11, but he lost in the big game. Tim Duncan would have been 6/6 if it weren't for Ray allen, but TD had his own strengths that were better than Jordan's but Jordan had even more strengths and was more of a complete package. There would be a legit case for Kobe if he didn't lose to Detroit or Boston because he had a lot of Jordanesque qualities about him.
But this conversation is about Jordan and Bron. Too much has happened in Bron's career to put him next to Jordans. Ditching the Cavs for Miami is a Stain, Losing in the finals is a stain, And playing against lesser competition is definitely a stain but the fact is the east is weak cuz players feel they have a better chance of making the finals by playing in the west than having to go through LeBron.
Jordan faced a tough eastern conference throughout his career. No he didn't make it to the finals every year, but every year he made it, he never ever lost the series. In the East, He has played against the Penny and Shaq magic, He has played against the Bad Boys, he has played against Birds celtics, he has played against Wilkins Hawks, Barkley Sixers, Ewing Knicks, Reggies Pacers, ETC.
When the tough got going against Bron, the players in the east went out west like the gold miners in 1849.
Bron will finish #2 behind jordan, and that is how far he can honestly go.
This is coming from a Cavs fan, Bron will never surpass Jordan no matter how many more championships he wins.
