WBA, IBF, (IBO) Unification fight - Ricky Burns Vs Julius Indongo

Bookies have indongo as an underdog, currently with +162.

How do you think will the fight play out?

Indongo is a big question mark. The only fights I can find online are his recent two fights.
One against former champion Troyanovsky and one against a journeyman.
Both ended in a first round knockout.

From these fights he seems to have big power and likes to fight at mid-range. Troyanovsky was a brutal one punch knockout and he hurt the other guy with a single straight left.

But his record doesn't indicate crushing power. Indongo has 11 knockouts out of 21 fights. Would love to see some of his 12-rounds decision to see more of his boxing.

Burns is burns. Always being in very close fights. More often than nod getting scorecards in his favour. Looks bad when his opponents know how to cut of the ring, looks better when his opponents try to get in range face first.

+: very good chin, uses his reach well, can tie up his opponents in close range, uses his feet to get out of danger, puts up his double guard well

-: no power, gets pushed around easily, no head movement, often loses rounds by getting outworked.

Another factor for this fight: Burns usually has the height and reach advantage, but in this fight Indongo has both.

Wtf man Indongo let these snakes con him into defending against Burns, man this dude needs to retire. Watch them rob Indongo. I feel bad for him already, you can tell the guy is just happy and hungry to be where he's at and will probably sign whatever someone tells him. Somebody is taking advantage of this dude sending him over there to fight Ricky Burns. He's a new, undefeated champion..... he could do sooo much more right now, that would benefit him far greater.

Here's to hoping he gets a quick KO, I will NEVER trust UK officials again after that Cleverly-Kovalev robbery. I hope Indongo got paid well for this and they didn't rob him of a pay check too.

Honestly, this is one of those situations where Uncle Al would do wonders for a guys career.

I don't think it's gonna matter, I think Indongo is going to KO Burns rather easily. Dude has absolutely nothing left.

I'm definitely rooting for Indongo here and after this. Hope he gets a big fight. African fighters from certain countries are the easiest to root for..... the pure bliss these guys always have on their face is truly humbling. The humility these guys show and how they go about their business is inspiring.

Unfortunately, not many of them take that plunge to world-class relevancy recently, after winning titles, etc. because they get suckered into **** like this for one.

(Unless this is a mandatory defense. Which would blow my ****ing mind the same way)

Hey, don't get me wrong, I meant no disrespect to Burns. He's always been solid and had a good career. Maybe I'm even overlooking Burns, but to me he's completely shot. Who knows, if he does end up winning... you're right, he's a champion and 3 division champ at that.

I just don't understand how he keeps losing and getting title shots. It's not fair, spread the wealth lol

lol inbongo is going to get robbed. burns is a bum but one thing he has is a chin and toughness. he has fought with a broken jaw before this will go the distance and he will get a gift decision fighting in the uk.
