  • did floyd mayweather retire to duck margarito???

if there is one man mayweather feared in his life its antonio margarito. it is very funny that mayweather retired soon after margarito announced his comeback. i dont blame him for retiring since margarito would have retired mayweather himself with one lethal right hand. its a shame to many people support such a coward and business man on the boxing scene.

Not so much because of margarito, but how deep the division was.

            2007 welter division

            Floyd
            Cotto
            Margarito
            Mosely
            Williams

Floyd was all out of big fight options except these guys.. Floyd "retired" after Oscar but conveniently cameback a few months later for Hatton and then he "retired" again..
While he was "retired" mosely, cotto, and margarito all beat the hell out of each other and were damaged goods and williams moved up in weight.. Then floyd came back like a vulture and picked at the remains

That makes no sense to me. Mayweather didn't have to fight Margarito or retire. If he didn't want to fight Margarito he could fight other guys instead and he didn't need to retire. I am sure he retired for another reason or reasons other than fear of Margarito. If he actually was afraid to fight Margarito he could still stay an active fighter and simply not fight Margarito.

I don't think Floyd retired to avoid Mosley, Cotto and Williams either. He is years older than Cotto and he beat Cotto latter at 154. He was staggered by Mosley in the 2 round but he easily won all the other rounds. Lara gave Williams a boxing lesson but was robbed of the win and that bad decision was highly criticized. I think Mayweather could also have easily out boxed Williams.

Not true! When Floyd was a young fighter everyone said he was the next SRL, so they projected everything SRL did onto Floyd! SRL was the greatest cherrypicker in boxing history! He wouldnt fight you unless he saw a weakness, and he used to retire to duck Hagler!

When Floyd retired they just said he was doing it to avoid easy foes, because thats what SRL did. But imagine Floyd accusing Cotto and Margarita of roid use! I mean Cotto and Margarita were great fighters, but he didnt look at them the way he looked at Pacman!

Mayweather was astounded by Pacman! A fighter like Floyd most likely looked at Cotto and Margarita as easy foes, lightyears below him! And when he returned to boxing, he was at a later age and faced guys twice his size and half his age! Floyd dont care if your old, young, big, fast, slow, he is going to white wash that butt!

It was SRL who needed everything to be PERFECT in order for him to step up to the challenege! Its a shame that Floyd is crucified for what SRL did!
