  • Prime Haye gives Liston all sorts of problems... from a Liston fan!

Speed is everything in this game, If liston lands clean he takes Haye out, but does he? and IF so, when? Prime haye is so much faster, and very hard to hit!
I got Liston by late KO with haye up on the scorecards

Haye gets so much credit for potential and what he "could have" done. What the fk has the guy actually accomplished? He had his chance to seize the glory and he turned out to be an egg-laying chicken. Fk him. I'm waiting for him to actually do something beyond this embarrassing "Haye Day" can crushing.

        Are you surprised?

The British media here once compared him to Ali (skill wise) because he was shadow boxing underwater.

Haye was the unified cruiserweight champion and then schooled the largest heavyweight in history and managed to KO many natural heavyweights. He has done more and looked better than the majority of heavyweights since the Holyfield/Tyson/Lewis age.

Can Haye beat Liston? That's a tough one but I'd give him a heck of a chance due to his height, reach and speed advantage. Not to mention he carries some serious firepower himself.

I'd still edge Liston simply because of is superior jab and punch power.

Little Liston was a flabby cruiserweight. 6'1" and 201lbs

Haye is 6'3" 220lbs of lean, ripped muscle

Little Liston used to intimidate his opponents who were mostly what would nowadays be super middleweights. However he would be dwarfed by haye and his little chubby body wouldn't intimidate him in the slightest, in fact haye would probably find this little fat fella quite funny

In the ring, the short, immobile little Liston would find Hayes speed like fighting neo from the matrix, and his power to be unreal.

This would be an utter, utter mismatch, with little Liston being given oxygen and stretchered out of the ring no later than the second round.

Post fight, little liston would probably develop severe PTSD from taking such a severe thrashing, and become a recluse, afraid to leave his house.

A sensible post. Haye wins majority of the early rounds as he boxes around liston using a lightening fast jab, and if he lands flush that hayemaker he troubles liston. Liston gets him out of there eventually but Haye is an underrated H2H fighter

Somehow, any actual names are conspicuously omitted...* Could it be because the argument is shyte????
I don't think he's horrible at all, but the type of credit he gets from his fans is laughable, hence the reason I posted.
If KOing natural HWs is a credential to get you in fantasy matchups with legends then, hell, why not run with Areola vs Frasier, Chisora vs Ali.

flabby? liston was built. this entire post is ridiculous haye hasn't even beaten anyone as good as Cleveland willams. wasn't haye stopped by carl thompson? a smaller fighter then liston? boxing isn't just "size" it's about skill and overall talent related to your respective divisions. fraizer was really small but gave hell to almost any guy at 6'3 and up. thats called talent. liston had a long powerful jab that would break many of his opponents noses. haye wouldn't be able to dance from the outside and troll from that. haye would be too scared to come in on liston (due to listons power) and would end up getting his face broken by jabs. the problem is haye doesn't have the foot movement. thats how you beat liston. foot movement. constantly circling around him. haye stays in one spot and likes to do silly herky jerky head movement. that would get his nose broken standing in front of liston. you gotta be kidding me LOL
