  • How do you describe Pacquiao fighting style?

Hi guys, in my opinion Pacquiao is a boxer puncher. In a discussion, a man insulted me and said that I don't know **** about boxing because Pacman is a counter puncher...
    What's your thoughts about it?

      He is a......

Manny Pacquiao is what you call, a complete fighter. He is an A Level fighter who can adjust and fight coming forward, backward, side to side, etc. He is a very good counter puncher with sting in both hands. At 140lbs, he'd be a one punch KO artist. He has never had a problem with size or length of his opponent. He touches EVERYONE. His ring IQ is also very under-rated. His defense is very good as well. He is not easy to hit clean. Ask Floyd. I think he is the best fighter in boxing after May 2nd. And I am being honest. Floyd did not beat Manny. The judges, Bayless, Vegas, etc sabotaged the event to make everyone think they were watching a master piece by one fighter and a struggling to adjust fight by the other fighter.

He has a less than 60 % KO rate!! With Ariza and shakes he was getting the job done.

If I had to go by the book, probably a boxer puncher. But his style is so unique that it's hard to even say what his style is.

Good question. That's hard to answer. Is he a Floyd or Marquez type counter puncher? Nope. Is he good at countering? Yes. He's very good. He can counter your jab, your straight right or left. If he blocks a shot, he can counter that too. So, I'd say no then. He's just a good counter puncher. You agree with that assessment?

When he deals with Ho's! He has the classic pump them and dump them style!!

A classic pumper dumper, has a kid or two unclaimed.

When he battles LGBT, he has the classic stance that same sex hook ups are wrong as ****.

In slow motion he has set back global fizaggoty 50 years!!

It's hard to place him into one category, but I'd agree on that boxer-puncher fits him well. At Pacquiao's best, he will attack viciously, from crazy angles, and the opponent won't have the slightest clue what's coming due to the speed. And the unique feature about this is that Pacquiao uses it TO counter. He swarms, using his signature in-out footwork, until the opponent makes a mistake, and then bam. Next thing we know, he stepped back and landed a perfectly placed counter-punch. This was basically what happened versus Cotto. Pacquiao went into a fire-fight, and then he backed off all of a sudden and tricked Cotto into being hit with big shots. Had the fight been at a fairer weight, and had Cotto decided to box instead of brawl, it could've been a lot different.

This is why Marquez has had so much success against Pacquiao; he doesn't fall for those tricks. Being a top-level counter-puncher, Marquez is always waiting to make Pacquiao pay for mistakes, which turns everything around. Pacquiao has to risk a lot more to force Marquez into messing up, conversely. It worked for Pacquiao a lot better when he was a wild attacker, but, with the changes to his style over the years, Marquez has that small breathing room it takes to guess what Pacquiao's going to do.

I don't know what it is, to be honest. I don't think that Pacquiao's slowed down so much that he CAN'T do it, but more like he simply decided not to attack that way anymore. Mentally, I guess he has a lot of trouble taking the matter seriously. It cost him the Mayweather fight. But, don't get me wrong, the real Pacquiao is a NIGHTMARE for anyone to fight.
