  • Why does it have to be HBO's way or the highway?

    Why?

And why aren't they just as much the blame as what other people accuse of Haymon?

At least with Showtime, they attempt to negotiate to give the fans what they want. HBO has zero flexibility and refuses to budge in negotiations. It wouldn't be as bad if they didn't throw in "He's duckin doe" at the end.

So why is it HBO's way or the highway?

Because they are the Premier Boxing Network that's way (they've been broadcasting boxing since 1976).

    You can't box with GOD.

Stevenson turned the fight down twice when he was on HBO.

There's no need to blame Haymon or Showtime. The picture is clear.

HBO got the game in the limelight, they were the big gig in town. Some other operation comes into town and tries to take them down.....well, experience allows them to wait out the competition's downfall as they have been there and done that.

Fight isn't big enough for HBO to give that kind of leeway. We've only seen it twice in about 13 years.

because showtime is a vulture who has taken a bunch of hbo fighters after hbo helped develop them. this is why they have exclusive contracts.
