Also does Kurt Russell deserve Actor of the Year? Bone Tomahawk & Hateful Eight, that's a damn good resume for 2015. He's like the Bernard Hopkins of acting, keeps getting better as he ages. Thought he was past prime then bam! Absolutely destroys it.

He was good, i thought this was one of Samuel L. Jacksons best performances in a while. But Leo has been snubbed for too long.

Leonardo DiCaprio is doing really well imo, I see Brad Pitt in basically any major production and he's alright even though he takes shitty roles all the time. McConaughey has been in some pretty good movies, same with Matt Damon.

Angelina Jolie is getting better with age, although she sucks at acting sad imo. Scarlett Johanson's getting better.

Honestly I don't really follow actors I watch a lot (way too many) of movies and even recently old cinema but I never pay attention to the acting really. Writers and directors are really key I think, put a great script in a mediocre actors hands and the movie will still be really good. Give a great actor a bad script it doesn't matter how well they do it'll suck regardless.

Just watched Troy yesterday, I'd say Pitt's in my current top 10 too.

For sure Kurt Russell. I'll cancel giving someone a ride to the ER if Big Trouble in Little China is on TV.

Sammy Jackson for sure too. Jules Winnfield & numerous other characters he's played are etched in my mind.

Matthew McC. So many great characters he's played.

Daniel Day-Lewis. I'm not really as big a fan of Day-Lewis as the above guys, but he's a guy you gotta respect his talent cuz its other worldly.

Robert Downey Jr. Was always a fan of his. Kinda drifted off when he was rehabbing every other month & walking into peoples houses naked, but he won me back as a huge fan with Tropic Thunder & the Ironman run. Hilarious in Tropic Thunder & I'm not sure there has been a superhero character thats been a better fit than Downey with Tony Starks.

Just watched Troy yesterday, I'd say Pitt's in my current top 10 too.

He hasn't been in a great movie in a while though so I think he's fallen outside the top ten. Sure, Fury was pretty good but that's it since 2009. You're putting him in the top ten for stuff he accomplished years ago, he's like Andre Ward. He needs another quality performance in a top 5-10 movie and I'll put him back in my list, until then I'm getting tired of his tune-up films (World War Z, Happy Feet 2, The Counselor).

This is not a hard and fast list. From this years movies I thought DiCaprio's portrayal as Hugh Glass in the movie "Revenant" was pretty intense and will probably get him the nob.
