  • Should Tyson Fury come to America and fight and build his name there?

I think Tyson Fury could be a huge name in the States, they love opinionated trash talkers to hate on. Also he would sell a fight like crazy, imagine him on First Take with skip and Stephen A Smith? Imagine him on the talk show circuit? dude would get a ton of attention, plus it helps build a super showdown between Deontay and Fury should these guys win their next few fights.

Only thing is the fight should be on HBO PPV, Showtime sucks when it comes to PPV for some reason its not the same feel. Will HBO and Haymon do business or will Haymon continue to want to take control of the entire boxing landscape so he can control how much he pays his fighters, while using Floyd Mayweather to lure fighters in with false hope thinking they will make 30 million a fight down the line while he gives them 1.5 to 2 million a fight to make them satisfied and happy not realizing thats pretty much going to be their average income.

I think the next time Fury in the states will be against someone like Wilder. I don't see him going there for anything other than a huge fight as for less than that he can make more in the UK on PPV. Depends how the upcoming round of HW fights go, right now hard to guess who Fury will go for while Wilder/Povetkin are tied up with each other. Maybe Martin will look great and call out Fury or maybe GBP make Fury a big offer for the Ortiz fight.

I agree Fury should come to the US now as champion & see if he can catch fire here. Might end up starting a new breed of US travelers in our ****ty economic hyper capitalist system which has left many mfers spit out & legit living in vehicles already lol.

I also think Haymon would be foolish to not be trying to make moves on Fury right now to in either the US or via his BT UK deal or whatever he gots going on there. Although with that traveler mindset Fury has he might not go for it, but than again Fury does seem like some new breed type mfer to me.

Why not? Conor McGregor has been a major hit for the UFC, Fury is far more likable and interesting than that guy.

Fury and Joshua both need to get some fights going over here and build up the hype. I mean if GGG and Canelo can become big stars, imagine what two english speaking HW's with cool accents could do over here. The US is still where the vast majority of the money is in boxing..

It pains me to say this (although it is quite funny) but America is dead for heavyweights. The reason why Wilder has taken so long to mature is they're biding their time waiting for another heavyweight to come along. Luckily America is an immigrant nation and Luis Ortiz is someone they can pin their hopes on.

Fury will probably fight somewhere like the MSG just 'cause it's an iconic venue but should remain primarily in Europe where the best heavyweights are. Povetkin has a good chance against Wilder and that would be a huge fight in the UK or Russia, you'd need an 80k stadium and the PPV sales would be crazy.

No, I'm saying outside of Wilder the US has no one. If it were not for people from foreign countries like Cuba and Mexico, heavyweight boxing in America would be dead.

Europe has far surpassed the US.

Thats nuts. No one is pinning their hopes on Ortiz except Oscar & maaaaayyybeeeee HBO. Guy is about to be 37yrs ffs. He's got 2-3 years to operate at a high level in the HW division more than likely. Plus Jennings was his first live opponent in his career. Wilder is more proven than Ortiz is.

I agree, Fury would do well in the US, much like Khan and Hatton but the important issue is, unlike those two, he doesn't need to. The heavyweight division is all about Europe, he makes millions here and will continue to do so if he carries on winning. Povetkin, Pulev, soon AJ, a come backing Haye, these are all european draws who dwarf or will dwarf names like Wilder, Ortiz and Jennings in terms of money earned and exposure on TV.

I'm sure it's taken a long time for americans to understand this but the heavyweight division no longer belongs to them.
