  • Club feet and running

    Hello,
I was born with club feet and I had surgery when I was a baby. Im wondering if I should do running if I want to compete or if I should just swim instead? When I run for more than 5 minutes then my legs and feet burn but I can swim for a longer period of time. Im 22 and 230 pounds, 5 feet 10. I decided that I want to be a great boxer but im wondering if I can do this without running

club feet.. how severe is that? i am ignorant WRT club feet, but a quick google search shows some pretty painful looking images, can you even box/pivot/move around like that?
    swimming sounds good.

I can pivot perfectly fine but the problem is that I cant stand on my toes. Im able to walk for hours just like any other human but its just that when I put intense pressure on my feet, they start to hurt a lot. So lets say im perfectly normal, will I be able to make it as a great boxer with no running, jumping rope or a very minimal amount if anything? I will replace it with swimming which is 100% definite

You will have to find out what works for you and your particular set of circumstances. We won't know. My guess is you won't be as agile as some but perhaps you can practice a sedentary stance and develop power from that. Anything is possible, and overcoming adversity is what makes one great.
