  • What's your current/updated P4P list?

Since the retirement of Floyd (and possible Manny) in recent times, and Ward fighting 3 liberal art students in the past 4 years......... The "P4P list" has been shaken up.

Who do you guys have in your top 10 P4P as of October 2015?

Here's what I think: (Note: I'm not including Wlad or any other HW's because the HW champion is always going to be #1. Or any other top HW for that matter. Wilder, Povetkin, etc)

    1) Sergey Kovalev
    2) Roman Gonzalez
    3) Gennady Golovkin
    4) Vasyl Lomachenko
    5) Guillermo Rigondeuox
    6) Terrance Crawford
    7) Timothy Bradley Jr.
    8) Canelo Alvarez
    9) Keith Thurman
    10) Viktor Postol/ Kell Brook

**** Note. Obviously guys like Lomachenko and Thurman are ranked purely based on skill and potential and not necessarily wins against top competition. But those wins will come.

Where as, my top 2 Kovalev and Roman are ranked top 2 based on BOTH skill/potential AND wins against top competition.

Errol Spence Jr is next in line to hit the top 10.

Cotto, Lara, Stevenson, Garcia and Frampton are not P4P fighters.

Lara... Meh. Okay. But the rest of those guys.... hell no.

Stevenson, Garcia and Frampton are all duckers. You cannot have clearly and shamefully ducked a top fighter in your division and be a P4P fighter.

Walters is just outside the top 10.

He lost some points when he ducked Lomachenko. He balooned up on purpose so he did not have unify and lose his title.

Crawford shouldn't be anywhere near these P4P lists, regardless of he's there based on skill or resume, because he doesn't qualify on either criteria.

            1. Rigo
            2. Ward
            3. GGG
            4. Gonzalez
            5. Pac
            6. Kovalev
            7. Estrada
            8. Lomachenko
            9. Cotto
            10. Wlad

I would have it something like that, some guys are there based on resume, some based on skill.

Postol deserves to be in the P4P rankings If you MUST have one of the two of Kell Brook or Postol, might be a bit premature but he is a good fighter no doubting that.

Don't think Lomachenko belong in the list and you surely can't have TC ahead of Canelo that makes literally no sense at all.
GGG probably rated a bit too highly I'd have Canelo ahead of him based of opponents beat mines would be -
              1. Wladimir Klitschko
              2. Sergey Kovalev
              3. Canelo Alvarez
              4. GGG
              5. Roman Gonzalez
              6. Adonis Stevenson
              7. Nicholas Walters (over Rigo)
              8. Erislandy Lara
              9. Keith Thurman
              10. Terence Crawford

Why shouldn't Crawford be included? He is most certainly a P4P fighter, skill/potential wise.

I forgot about Estrada but that is a good choice.

Ward should not be included, for obvious reasons. Fighting for free on BET is basically just a glorified sparring session, not a competitive professional boxing match.

Canelo has the better resume, but I think Crawford is the better fighter. So, it was a tough decision to make. But Crawford has a higher ceiling as a fighter, he just needs time to be able to carve out a resume like Canelo.
