  • Favorite film adapted from a video game

What are your favorite movies that have been adapted or inspired by a video game?

I recently watched Street Fighter Assassin's Fist, and it was pretty awesome. It righted the wrong of the SF movie in the 90's, and the recent Chun Li one. Those were kind of terrible. SF Assassin's Fist however is wonderfully done, eventhough they had a small budget to work with. It tells the story of Ryu and Ken, and the back story of thier master Goken and his brother Goki (who becomes Akuma). It was written and directed by Joey Ansah and Christian Howard. Both also act in the film with Howard playing Ken, and seemingly born to play that role.

If any of you are fans of the genre or Street Fighter fans, you should check out this movie. It's on dvd/blue ray now, but I think some online sites have it as well.

It was never made but I remember being really excited about the prospect of a Halo movie being made. They made some pretty cool live action **** like this stuff.

Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie is the only halfway decent video game movie I've ever watched. The rest flat out suck.

The day's coming when someone will finally make a good one. I hope it is sooner rather than later. It's not like video games lack stories that could make great movies.
