  • Opressed majority, short movie about sexism

On what seems to be just another ordinary day, a man is exposed to sexism and sexual violence in a society ruled by women.

is one year old video but it really opened my eyes. look at the scene before the sexual assault, even as a man i find it scary if i encounter bunch of scoundrels in bright day light. i imagined it will be more scary for female, and we see this thing happens all the time everywhere.

    please discuss.

interesting film.. the scene that spoke most to me was the "look at what you're wearing!" scene. men can be quick to judge women on what they wear, but it's important to realise that what you wear doesn't define who you are. i've been guilty of this in the past - if a women chooses to dress like a slut it doesn't necessarily mean she is a slut or assumed to be a slut (even if she's probably more likely to be a slut).

'feminism' is so broad and there are many different types. strong feminism (or 'nazi-feminism') is a joke, however the oppression in this film is just as bad, if not worse. society should not treat men and women as identical because, biologically speaking, they're very different, but they should have equal rights and neither should be oppressed.

i also have been gulty of that in the past, also harassing woman in the street. it never occured to me until now at the receiving end woman will find it annoying, disrespectful or even scary. i just thought i only playing, looking at their body, throw some sexist joke at them. acting like real jackass.

Although I generally agree with your post and sentiment, I disagree with the clothes part. People do judge people on what they wear, and that's because clothes are a way of communicating who you are and your intentions. That's why some people die their hair and wear all black, people in gangs wear certain clothes, well off people wear pricey suits. People don't need to personally adhere to this however it's about taking responsibility for one's own actions and realising there are connotations that come with the way you dress. It's not like woman don't judge men based on what they wear, either.

With that said there is still no excuse for harassment and general douchebaggery with regards to clothes.

take a look at the scene with the homeless, i see this scene many times in real life. when i see it i laugh but the woman being harassed feel different they feel embarassed, annoyed and scared.

and the gangrape scene it feel so familiar because i was there many times with my friends harassing woman in quiet street though not to the point of gang raping anybody. we excuse ourself that this harassment thing just a "joke" or just "having fun" but some times deep down we have small thought of grabing the woman, bend her over then take turns satisfying our lust. fortunately me and my friends dont like carrying a knife and are too much "beta" for that but there are many cases the ending not turn out well for the females.

with all of the scene in this movie happen in everyday anywhere do you still think this is just about feminism??

I'm not gonna lie, the gangrape scene gave me a raging boner.

Had a pretty good wank afterwards.
