Obviously most of us have way more than one favorite boxer - so name them all if you'd like.

Just be good to have a thread where we get an idea of who the favorites are of real hard core fans.

It'd be great to hear some of the lesser known names deserving every bit as much respect and attention and appreciation as the "mainstream" typical responses like Ali, Robinson, Hagler, Leonard, etc.

Roy Jones Jr is my favorite boxer because his style of boxing and his abilities were inspiring to me and it made me want to be like him at an age where I thought Superman was the coolest guy ever. Jones basically took Clark Kent's place as the coolest character ever, only that Jones is an actual person. In short, I saw Jones as you would see a superhero, you just want to be like them. I thought that was the most badass thing ever, to be able to fight like Roy Jones. He is why I started boxing, he is not who got me into boxing, but after seeing him box is when I actually put gloves on and tried to box. No boxer in particular made me start watching boxing, it was my dad watching it and me just sitting there with him, but then Roy Jones made me want to take up boxing.

I'll get Tyson out the way, I was a young child (under ten) when he was known by everyone anywhere. When your that age a guy like Mike looks 7 foot tall and just as wide.

Gotta be Naz though for me. Entertaining as fuk for me, every fight had me on the edge of my seat. Watching his career on ITV every few Saturday nights until he got big. Then all the bigger fights and PPV's after that which introduced me to Barrera, Kelly etc...then I watched their fights with Morales, Jones and so on and so on. So he got me into the sport really in a serious way.
