If you watch the Jennings fight he basically clinched due to being taller and Jennings flailing in. Not much you can do about that. Wlad has been atrocious with clinching in the past but ward and Hopkins are way worse. They basically punch and then clinch to negate any return fire. It's awful and somehow gets praised while wlad gets denigrated.

The main difference is that the guys you listed have defense outside of clinching. They can bob, weave, bounce, dodge, parry etc., meanwhile Wlad's clinching is his only form of defense. And unfortunately he uses is as an offense too. Wlad literally has nothing outside of jabbing and throwing a straight right and clinching. That's literally his entire dimension.
