I have a longtime friend and he's a hopeless cause. Here is the situation. He's 30 years old, overweight, virgin, and he doesn't have his life together. I told him he needs to lose weight because he has back problems but he is in complete denial about his health. He is very stubborn. He has a not so stable job. He met a girl online that he became obsessed with. She lives a few states over. I guess they were talking and he was sending her things. He is sending her expensive clothing and this dude is asking me for $20.00 every week. No idea where he's getting the cash. He sent her a brand new phone and when she got the phone, she "broke" up with him. He became very hurt and wanted to drink on new years. I said okay. We drank a bit and he got wasted. The next day I wanted to take him to get some greasy food because that was the first time he got wasted. We were at a stop light and that girl called him. I was kinda pissed at her so I was like "hey, let me talk to her. I'll set her straight" and he became very weird and he got out of my car then started walking off. I told him "Listen dude, I'm not the type of person who begs people to get back in my car. When the light turns green, I'm taking off." Sure enough he didn't listen so I took off and left him. I haven't talked to him since. I feel like I should drop him. I tried helping him but he doesn't listen and that "relationship" with that girl is very unhealthy. What do you think about this situation? Do you think I should drop him? Help him? Thoughts?
