  • The rise of the Manosphere [in the Lounge]

Did anyone notice certain buzz words being used by our Lounge denizens lately. This didn't happen circa 2011-2012. Might not even have happened in 2013.

But the words, "Alpha Male", "Beta", "White Knight", "Mangina", "Red Pill", "Blue Pill" are all starting to creep up in the Lounge.

I take it that a bunch of posters are starting to read Manosphere-esque material. Identify yourselves posters. What website/blogs do you frequently visit? What do you consider yourself as? Perhaps a MGTOW (Man going their own way), an MRA (Man's rights Activist), PUA (Pick-Up artist from the Manosphere who have an axe to grind with Feminists and aren't just about picking up women). Are you 'Red Pill' considering other Men as Blue Pill, White Knighting Beta Males (I believe I just read Squealpiggy being referred to as a one in the street harassment thread. Being a intellectual Atheist isn't as edgy as it used to be eh)

Apparently if you don't joke about children with terminal illness....you're a "white knight".

The twitter garbage flow over is annoying me.

Ya a thread on maradona smacking up his wife had one idiot asking "when the white knights will come to the rescue." ****in clowns. This site is the only social media I participate on so until now the only word I knew of was alpha male.

the only social media i use is boxingscene. i do have a twitter account, NEboxing, but i can never really get a head of steam going and become involved. i think it's my lack of a picture. people don't take you seriously when you look like a green egg.

This stuff is becoming prevalent all over the internet. Main point seems to be unconditional mistrust of women.

Alpha is a term used by ethologists to describe a dominant male within animals with strict social hierarchy. "Beta" male is used by uneducated adolescents with limited understanding of what "alpha male" means.

According to chronically masturbating losers one can be deemed a "beta male" or a "mangina" or a "white knight" based on treating women like people. A shockingly controversial position to take apparently.

The white knight thing happened when Bossy came onto the scene and a number of longtime posters proceeded to embarrass the fuck out of themselves.

All of those terms started gaining speed in the past couple of years mainly from the backlash of feminism being promoted on social media.

Like everything in life though either extreme is a terrible mindset and it is better to be in the middle.
